So, a co-worker's birthday is coming up, and it's kinda a big deal since it's 65 and all, and that's when people retire in Sweden. And this co-worker, see, he owns this awesome car, an old Buick, that he has restored and painted and it's a work of art, really. So I decided to draw that car for him for his birthday.
I should have thought things through more, though, and NOT used watercolours. To be fair: to be watercolours, it's not bad. But it's not like I had envisioned it. I thought about oil first, but then it wouldn't dry until his birthday. I thought about goache, but I've never used that before and I didn't want to try it on a real piece. I thought about acrylics, but I'm all out of acrylics (at least most colours) and I don't get paid until Friday. So watercolours it was!
I hate the background with a passion (it was really buildings, though, and that would have been worse), but am not entirely displeased with the chrome. I could have spent more time on it ... but I didn't. This is how I'll leave it.
Watercolours, with details added with a black pen and a white gel pen. Colours tweaked a little in Photoshop, since it didn't scan very well.
