1900s clothing by ihni 1900s clothing by ihni
This weekend, we had Stenstansdagarna here in my town. It's a couple of days which focuses on the time around the 1900's. Amongst a lot of other events during these days, a couple of artists (I think there were 28 of us this year) put up some art on screens downtown, and we're encouraged to wear clothing from around that time. I put up some art, and naturally couldn't resist sewing fitting clothes. :p

The so-called art was also inspired by that time; taken from old photographs and then I added and/or changed something so it'd be more ... interesting ... at a second glance, but the clothes were probably more of a success than the art.

I liked the skirt, could wear the blouse and absolutely hated the hat, but wore it anyway.

Next time I get an idea like this, though, remind me that it's not really worth all the time it takes, okay? Thanks.

I think you were born in the wrong century (and even millenium *lol*); you can pull off that 1900s thing :D. Honestly, I can see that you didn't like the hat, it looks slightly uncomfy, but all in all your costume looks really great (and yay for that brooch, your outfit would have lacked something essential if you hadn't worn it, imho).

And thanks for uploading this, now I realize that I was totally off guessing the sizes of your works (I thought that Depressed Gal was much bigger, and that you're great-?-granddad a lot smaller).

Well, right back atcha! I couldn't believe how small the wonderful drawing of Tom (that I'm looking at in real life right now) was until I got the original. That you can fit that many details into something that small is no less than a wonder.

Well done, you. Did you sell anything or was it only look no touch?

I sold one to my dad, and one to my mom, so I don't think that counts ... :p

Det är Stenstansdagarna i Sundsvall; ett par dagar då man inriktar sig på tiden kring sekelskiftet 1800-1900. Det är en massa evenemang i stan, med dramatiserade historievandringar, uppvisningar, utställningar osv.
