Cooler than frozen hydrogen.
Gooosh~~! <3
I do believe I can answer some of those questions for you. If you 'die' in limbo you merely wake up. As with Cobb and Mal, Aiadne and Fiscer, and then Cobb and Saito. The shock of practically dying, or almost dying, woke them up.
He said that the spent years building limbo together. That means that it was both of their ideas going into building. Also, it was said in the movie that Limbo is the final destination. Where one goes when they have gone to far into the dream realm. And since it was technically surrounded by water, and I have read where someone described it as akin to an Iceberg. I believe Limbo is infinite. What Cobb had was merely an island, and since both he and Mal had gone into the same dream, they both shared the same island. So there could quite possibly be thousands of others who have died in their sleep and gone to Limbo. They are all just on separate islands, divided by a vast expanse of water.
Another point that reaffirms that is that Cobb washed up once again on a beach, but the lay out was different. His dream world with Mal crumbled during the storm, so he must have 'drifted' to Saito's version of Limbo, the infinite nothing. Which was more oriental based in appearance.
Why there are no projections is truly a good question and one that I cannot conceive an answer for.
Hope you found these slightly helpful in your quest for answers.
And so, if they dreamed up a boat in limbo, could they go visit other islands? And was it possible to dream up PEOPLE in Limbo? If they could dream up everything else, people should have been a piece of cake, right? But then, how would they know that it was "real" people they met when they went to those other islands, in stead of people they just dreamed up?
... I wonder if Limbo is like Earth, like, a round planet?
Now you've made me wonder about more things about this movie! XD But it's what I love about it - there doesn't seem to be any definitive (spelling?) answers. There are only interpretations, and I very much enjoy hearing people's interpretations. So thank you for taking the time to give me your point of view.
People are complicated with all their minute details, their flaws, strengths, weaknesses, personalities. Despite Limbo being describe as infinite there probably were some rules and limitations. Though not many.
Now that would be interesting indeed.
Having questions to wonder and answer is just another great feature about the movie. Right down to the 'end' it keeps you guessing and I doubt anyone will ever find all the answers.
You are welcome, I liked many of your opinion's as well. They really helped me to see somethings from a different angle.

I'm thinking of doing an Inception fic challenge. Do you think people will read it?
